The Radio Reading Service is a not-for-profit community organisation owned & operated by the NZ Radio For The Print Disabled. Established in 1985, it made its first broadcast in May 1987. The radio Reading Service was founded by Allen J Little QSM, JP in Levin, New Zealand.
From studios in Levin, volunteers read information as it is printed from newspapers, magazines & periodicals. That information is recorded and played on air at selected times.
A print disabled person is anyone who cannot see, hold, understand or access everyday printed literature. The radio Reading Service is on air to turn print into sound.
We are supported by our volunteers, please get in touch if you would like to be a voluteer.
